Belly Dance Basics
with Hadia
Learn Middle Eastern belly dance movements, techniques, muscle isolation's, combinations, and presentations. We will cover the music, history, terminology, and culture of the dance. Gain strength, balance, flexibility, stamina, and coordination as we learn body awareness and basic movements, organize dancing patterns into complete routines, learn to improvise, and use mini-combos for any form of belly dance. Loose clothing is necessary, with dance shoes or bare feet, and no street shoes. Hip scarves or full skirts are optional and helpful. Men and women are welcome in this fun class for both beginners and dancers who desire a review of basic belly dance movements. Taught by Hadia Al Hayat (Micki Bailey).
Hadia is a Belly Dance instructor and performer. She teaches "Belly Dance Basics with Hadia!" at Cayuga Community College Auburn and Fulton campuses.

Vortexes as a Transformative Force

Are you curious about the famous Thompson Park Vortex? People will learn about energy vortices and imprints, what they are, how they work, how to benefit from and how to find them.
Local author Madis Senner is going to lead two great workshops on sacred spaces. This presenter has been cataloguing sacred sites in greater New York State for over 15 years. Thompson Park is featured in the book linked below. Copies will be available at the FAE Fest!

Healing America - a Workshop of Possibilities
Recognizing that many of us are concerned about the lack of harmony in our country, this workshop seeks to provide a means for helping our beloved USA. Through guided meditation, prayer, and raising and sending of energy, we will seek to begin the healing of the rift currently causing such dissonance.
Presented by Joanne Harter and Chalice Circle CUUPS (Covenant of Unitarian Universalist PaganS) of Watertown, a Pagan networking group open to those interested in following a positive, nature-based spiritual path.

The Medicine Wheel
with John & Cherie Sardella
John and Cherie Sardella will teach a workshop on the Medicine Wheel, focusing on the emotions, animals, colors, and elements of each direction. It will include some visualization and singing. The workshop will focus around the healing properties of the medicine wheel (wheel of life).
John is Mohawk and MicMac. Cherie is a Gypsy. Together, they form the musical duo Gypsy Red.

Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About the Craft
But Couldn't
The workshop, presented by DEA, will include a brief history of the Craft from early times until the present, how it has made positive and negative changes over time, and famous high priests and priestesses. She will also answer questions when not shamanizing and give advice when asked. During the day she will be doing aura dusting but will use her spare time to answer questions and discuss pertinent subjects of interest to her guests.
DEA is a High Priestess and Witch Queen of Alexandrian (by Dr. Hans Holzer), Gardnerian, Connaught Irish ( both by M. O’Maoilbhrennen ), and three other traditions. She also founded the well known Boreadean Order, has done radio and television appearances, lectured and taught throughout the North East and Eastern Canada, and now also teaches Northern Indo European Shamanism in this area. With two students she will offer Aura Dusting as she did at the Sterling Renaisance Faire.

Create a Juju Staff or Stick with Eclectic Ideas
Through the creation of a Juju staff or Juju stick, the student will create a magical tool which may represent the creator's desired set of strengths. It can then be used like a wand during rituals or spell casting. This workshop will teach people about the symbolism behind many objects, and provide participants with a hands on tool to help them focus on these associations in their rituals and magic.
Mickie and Willow Van Patten of Eclectic Ideas are self-taught Pagans. They have been involved in Pagan ceremonies and circles in St. Lawrence County for several years. They have focused on the values associated with objects and concepts like wood and gems, colors and animals, sun and moon, the natural forces etc., and have used this knowledge in their magic with great success.

A Sacred Walk of Thompson Park

Join us for a sacred walk of Thompson Park and explore the wonderment of Mother Earth found there. Experience Her divine and mysterious places located there. Places that have the potential to raise your consciousness, or give you insights. There is something special about Thompson Park; come experience it.
It is recommended that you bring along a seat cushion to sit on. Feel free to bring along a pair of dowsers’ L-Rods if you like.

Here's a great workshop for current or inspiring writers, and fans, of fantasy and folklore! Merlyn will give a workshop at the FAE Festival on writing, how to organize your thoughts into book form, and will help you navigate your way through the self publishing process that she has successfully used. Remember: "Writers write!" Merlyn will help you get cracking!
Merlyn Fuller is a 20 year veteran Renaissance faire and traditional music performer and musician as well as a intuitive card reader and published author of three books. She has been published in newspapers and magazines, and her current books features the genres of memoir, fantasy fiction and biography.

Pranayama, Re-Energization Yoga Exercises
with the Yoga House Project
Join us for a morning session of re-energization yoga exercises with Ganapatiananda, founder of the Yoga House Project and pastor of the Awakening Consciousness Fellowship. Re-energize your body, mind, and soul with pranayama (life force control). A brief, efficient exercise routine that moves life-force throughout the entire body will be shared. This technique has been handed down to Guru Ganapatianada from a fully enlightened lineage of gurus, and he has been divinely guided to share it with everyone.
The Yoga House Project is movement to establish spiritual, holistic wellness centers for the body, mind, and spirit to help raise the human consciousness all over the world. Ganapati (Guru Ganapati Ramanuja dhaasa ananda) is a certified Kriyabon Yogi and an ordained minister with a PhD in Religious Philosophy and a Doctorate in Religious Science. He has recieved Saranagati initiation, vowing to dedicate his life to God. World Peace Meditation
with The Yoga House Project
Join the Yoga House Project for a healing world peace meditation. There is so much tension and pain in the world right now, especially due to recent events, and meditations are greatly needed. Meditation is one of the most powerful ways to help heal yourself, others, and the world at large. We will be having a world peace group meditation at 2:30 located at the Sun Workshop area. We will be doing a guided meditation, great for beginners and advanced alike to join in and spread healing light to the whole world. Everyone is welcome to join us.
The Yoga House Project is really passionate about meditation and being proactive about spreading love, light, and peace into the world.

Recycled Drums for Kids!
Toddlers and kids will learn how to recycle cardboard oatmeal containers into drums using non-toxic glue, washable crayons and markers, construction paper, scissors, stickers, yarn, and feathers. Children are invited to use them during the drum circle at 5:30.
Grey Catsidhe has been a practicing Druid for the last decade, but explored other paths of Paganism for several years before that. She is a part of the Ár nDraíocht Féin (ADF) tradition, and is currently the Senior Druid of Northern Rivers Grove in the Watertown Area. Grey is a mother and educator. She loves working with children and helping them learn how to be creative and honor the Earth.
